  • Basic Course

The ASBIRO Basic Course was designed not only for ‘beginners in business’ but people just thinking about the idea of ‘going into business’

This course is not just another business programme amongst thousands. We do not intend to teach you anything you can learn from a book (For example). We are not going to give you any assessments or examinations.

    However
We intend to slightly change your perspective & thinking. We will help you think, act, believe & become a successful entrepreneur. We will also give you world class networking skills & invaluable contacts.

After the course you will have contact with ASBIRO lecturers and ASBIRO students. This is priceless in terms of a business education.

    Who are our lecturers?

Our lecturers are people who have succeeded in real business. They are real life practitioners still running businesses & are not THEORISTS or GURUS. Often they are millionaires or financially free people. They can also be small business owners. This can mean experienced & hard working: shop / restaurant / bakery / IT company owners. This is a practical programme so we have practical speakers. The accumulated assets of our lecturers is in excess of £1.4bln. (As you can see, this is not a typical business course)

    How the ASBIRO classroom looks

All the events are in English. Each event features 4 entrepreneurs speaking about business
Each event has a networking workshop on building business networks in a foreign country (Last academic year in the UK 50% of the lecturers were non-Polish). This included South African and USA speakers. We fund the travel and accommodation of Polish based speakers too. You get to hear the very best that Poland has to offer courtesy of ASBIRO Poland.

The lecturer’s seminars are constructed like this:

1st session is to talk about background
This could include upbringing & any anecdotes or tales regarding how they came to be in business. (Students are intrigued as to how the lecturer’s commercial journeys begin. This separates the ASBIRO concept from any other academy because you get an understanding of why things occur). We take a 15 minute comfort break. Students can grab a coffee & check their emails.
2nd session is to talk about the business experiences they have had
What they have learnt. The challenges they have faced, the successes they have had & the practical lessons that they can share with the students. We then take another 15 minute comfort break.
3rd hour is about their enterprise what it does, where it’s going what they are trying to achieve
This is to include a question-and-answer session. It also includes recommended business reading & blogs to follow too. (As you can see, this is not typical business course)

    You can “try” ASBIRO

We are so confident that ASBIRO will change your thinking that we will allow you to access a lecture as a guest at our expense (We pay your fee for that session). Come along to our 1st class that is open to the public and see why it is the most successful personal development programme in the market place. The 1st class includes an explanation as to how the ASBIRO Basic Course looks for 2015 & the lecturers. We have an AWESOME LINEUP.

    We also issue STUDENT PASSES
This allows you to attend a Saturday afternoon lecture courtesy of ASBIRO. To apply for a STUDENT PASS please email STUDENT PASS request to the following email account & we will organise for your name to be on the student register. You will be welcomed by our student liaison officer & be introduced to the team studentpass@asbirounivresity.co.uk

    The Saturday Dinner

The best discussions & networking take place Saturday evening. This maybe in a pub or restaurant. This is very useful brainstorming between students and lecturers. If you live outside of London, please consider to stay the night.

    Our lecturers weaknesses

What you may not find at ASBIRO is great public speaking from all the lecturers

    • They are not NLP specialists
    • They are not GURUS
    • They are not motivational specialists

This is because we focus on genuine & authentic business people. These are people that built 20-100 employee firms from NOTHING. They are really busy & this is usually the 1st time they have shared their knowledge. Our course is for students expecting FANTASTIC & REAL content than a slick presentation.

Staying in contact with our lecturers

As a student, you will get not just get real business knowledge, but receive the possibility to stay in touch with our lecturers. These entrepreneurs will willingly keep contact with you if you need it.

    Video database access

All the classes are recorded. You will have personal access to this material. You will also be able to access other ASBIRO material.

You can find below an example video from one of our classes in Poland.

The speaker on this video is Mark Skousen, Ph. D., Editor of Forecasts & Strategies, a nationally known investment expert, economist, university professor, and author of more than 20 books. He recently was named one of the 20 most influential living economists. He earned his Ph. D. in monetary economics at George Washington University in 1977. He currently holds the Benjamin Franklin Chair of Management at Grantham University. He has taught economics and finance at Columbia Business School, Columbia University, Barnard College, Mercy College and Rollins College. He also has been a consultant to IBM, Hutchinson Technology and other Fortune 500 companies.
